Sailing Yachts

Always at sea

Measuring with light for design, performance and safety improving.

Thanks to the big advantages of FBG fiber optics sensing technologies and customized sensors that can be installed embedded or bonded on sails, on structural elements of the yacht, including all the parts that are in direct contact with water or submerged, it is possible to perform structural, pressure, vibrational, thermal and real-time 3D shape monitoring of :

  • hull and rudders
  • foilers and daggerboards
  • keel structure
  • mast, spreaders, backstay and forestay
  • canting keel mechanism housing
  • jib and main sails

The embedding of the FBG sensors arrays inside sails materials, allows to perform a 3D shape monitoring, one of the most advanced interactive method for real-time sail trimming during the navigation and  digital – twins 3D geometry variation visualization for real-to-theoretical sail shape comparisons  performed and showed on mobile devices.

3D OPTICAL SCANNING & REVERSE ENGINEERING

  • The offer for the sailing yachts design and engineering world is completed with 3D optical scanning services on large surfaces, like hulls and deck structures, for quick and accurate surface reconstruction and physical-to-digital moulds reverse engineering for re-design operations.

  • NEW PROJECTS AND HIGH END APPLICATIONS AT 62th SALONE NAUTICO IN GENOVA – www.salonenautico.com

We will be in Genova at 62th Salone Nautico next 22 of September in order to meet customers and prospects to analyse new projects and applications dedicated to structural, vibrational and 3D Geometry variations dynamic monitoring performed with fiber optics sensors on all sailing yachts constructive elements.

If interested, please send a meeting request by sending an email to info@globalsensing.it and we will meet you directly at Your booth in Genova.
